ANALYZING THE PSYCHOLOGY OF TERRORISM AND SCHOOL SHOOTINGS IN CONTEMPORARY GERMAN-LANGUAGE DRAMA

Abstract

The report is devoted to the analysis of the psychological motives for carrying out a terrorist attack and the mass shooting of classmates at school, shown in the plays of German-speaking modern playwrights - Thorsten Buchsteiner (“Nordost”) and Volker Schmidt, Georg Staudacher “komA”. German and Austrian playwrights use fictional material to address pressing issues of our time - they try not only to deeply analyze the psychology of massacres, but also to give their viewers the opportunity to “live” this situation. In this way they realize the psychotherapeutic potential of dramaturgy.
