The study explores the functional and structural role of prepositions in the analytic-synthetic organization of the German language. Prepositions are regarded as “invisible architects” that determine the syntactic relations between sentence components and contribute to the coherence and logical structure of discourse. The research emphasizes the dual nature of German — its tendency toward analyticity through the increasing use of prepositional constructions, and its preservation of synthetic features expressed in morphological markers. By analyzing prepositional usage in various types of discourse, the paper highlights how prepositions serve not only as formal connectors but also as semantic operators that shape meaning, textual cohesion, and communicative precision.
