Водії як учасники дорожнього руху мають безумовний вплив на забезпечення безпеки дорожнього руху, а тому їх думка має чимале значення для дослідження та аналізу стану безпеки на автошляхах України. Заслуговує на позитивну оцінку проведене емпіричне дослідження, за результатами яких, на думку осіб, які керують транспортними засобами, стан безпеки дорожнього руху в Україні є скоріше не задовільним, аніж задовільним. Головною причиною порушень правил дорожнього руху водії указують недотримання ПДР водіями автотранспортних засобів, а отже – фактор суб’єктивного характеру, коригуючий вплив на який дозволить у перспективі реально знизити показники ДТП, дорожньо-транспортної смертності і травматизму.
