RESTORATION OF THE CULTURAL SPHERE OF UKRAINE: REGIONAL CHALLENGES

Abstract

The early 21st century posed a formidable test of Ukraine's resilience, marked by events like the Orange Revolution and Russia's aggression, culminating in a major conflict in 2022. This aggression triggered a significant shift in the artistic endeavors of cultural organizations, demanding a fresh repertoire policy and separate funding or team preservation. Challenges arise from a lack of timely reporting on damage to cultural institutions, exacerbated by a shortage of skilled personnel due to military casualties. Financing disparities lead to instability, while the loss of staff and graduates from art schools further compounds the issue. To ensure the sustainable functioning of Ukraine's cultural sphere, there is a pressing need to embrace digital technologies, bolster digital skills training, and enhance social protections for cultural workers, while also prioritizing the restoration of cultural heritage.
