Abstract
The operating conditions of the molds of continuous casting machines and the basic requirements that apply to their materials, the mechanisms of the appearance of defects and the reasons for their failure are considered. The characteristics of the material used for the walls of the crystallizers are given. Alloying elements that serve to strengthen and increase the recrystallization temperature of copper alloys with virtually unchanged thermal conductivity are considered. Copper-based alloys for manufacturing were analyzed continuous caster crystallizers. An analysis of the use of plasma-arc surfacing to restore the working surfaces of molds has been carried out.
